IES Schools South Africa

International Education Systems (IES) is one of the few international organisations in the world to offer a structured programme of studies from Early Childhood Education (pre-school) through to University level studies. The IES schools are officially recognised by the relevant national education authorities and all qualifications offered have both national and international recognition. Therefore, all awards made by the IES schools are also fully recognised both nationally and internationally; whether these be in the pre-school, primary or high school levels. IES schools are members of The International Schools Association, offer, where appropriate, qualifications awarded by Cambridge International Examinations and the International Baccalaureate. Outside of South Africa the organisation owns and operates a growing number of schools throughout the United Kingdom, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Panama and the United States of America.

IES Schools in South Africa comprise of three campuses located in the Western Cape Province of South Africa - Blouberg International, Hout Bay International and Helderberg International School. We are proud to be part of a greater international family, not just because we enjoy the privilege of being part of an international community, but because our horizons are stretched far and wide, opening greater opportunities for our students to reach their dreams above and beyond expectation.

What makes this family of schools unique is the attention invested in forming a strong sense of belonging to a community. We would like to think that there are only tangible borders separating us, but that in fact we are part of an immediate and broader community affording our students the opportunity to be supported and secured for a brighter, broader future.

The founders of the IES group of schools have established a strong sense of tradition and a rich history creates a sense of strong pride within the members of the organisation. All the IES schools enjoy the benefits of cultural and linguistic exchanges, focus on the individual student, through small classes, mentoring and a system of personalised learning, emphasize internationalism, promote language learning as a key skill in a globalised world, promote academic rigour, prioritise the development of character and are flexible about the distinctive needs of the different societies and communities which they serve.
