The Helderberg International School celebrated the joy of reading during their Book Week. This year marked a different approach to the way activities were done, in light of the fact that some of their students still partake in online lessons from home.
Primary school students were invited to partake in many creative activities relating to reading, an integral part of the formative years. From creating their own bookmarks, creating book illustrations, to creating book covers for children's books, the imagination of the students were stretched and pushed beyond the boundaries of purely reading. The children were given the scope to experience other segments of writing a book.
High school students were challenged in different avenues, some partaking in a 21 day "drop-all-and-read" challenge, to creating their own audio books. A few fun elements were added to the list of activities, and students could dress up for the day, both on campus or in the virtual space.
