Konstantinos Theocharis, who obtained his International Baccalaureate Diploma with an impressive 41 points out of 45 from Hout Bay International School this past December, recently received news that he had been accepted into St Andrews University in Scotland (ranked as the 2nd best University in the UK – above Oxford).

Not only was he accepted into this prestigious university from among the top students in the world, but he was given credit for his entire 1st year of study and has been allowed to enter the 2nd year of his BSc Computer Science degree.

This is a phenomenal achievement and testimony not only to Konstantinos’s superb DP results, but to the high regard international universities have for the International Baccalaureate Diploma and course of study.

Konstantinos’s story is proof that leaving school with an IB Diploma truly provides students with access to the best universities in the world and even the possibility of receiving credit for their 1st year of study.
